Story Booth

Story Booth is an interactive experience at the Center for Family History in the International African American Museum, where guests are invited to record and share their personal reflections. Visitors can leave short audio or video messages responding to a set of pre-selected prompts or offering their thoughts on specific exhibits that moved or inspired them.

These recordings become part of a growing archive of voices, adding personal depth to the broader historical narrative presented in the museum. Story Booth offers guests a unique opportunity to connect their family histories and lived experiences to the stories told within the museum’s walls. It emphasizes the importance of oral history and personal testimony in preserving cultural memory. Whether reflecting on ancestry, resilience, or the impact of a particular artifact, each contribution helps enrich the collective story of the African American experience.

Recordings are organized based on the topic selected prior to their recording.
