The pages included in this document are the plantation records of the Frierson Estates, 1835-1865 and the property records of Elizabeth Whitmarsh Seabrook. Included are ledgers, wills, bills of sale, and baptism and confirmation records. The plantations that these records reflect are: Rural Plains (Saint Mark’s Parish, Sumter County, South Carolina, United States); Cherry Vale (Saint Mark’s Parish, Sumter County, South Carolina, United States); Wyboo (Manning, Clarendon County, South Carolina, United States); Taw Caw (Summerton, Clarendon County, South Carolina, United States) and Eureka (Sumter County, South Carolina, United States). Rather than breaking up this document by county or city, the document, in its entirety, is included in the sub-categories for both Clarendon and Sumter Counties. Other plantation records may be reflected in some of the documents.
These records were scanned, transcribed, and a digital copy was donated to the Center for Family History at the International African American Museum by Julia Seabrook Cole Bouhabib, a descendant of Frierson and Seabrook families. Her summary is included in the document.
